Liebster Award

Thank you to Jason Mullin at Edible Adventure Travel for nominating me for the Liebster Award…He has created a food and travel blog that you gotta check out.

liebster What is the Liebster Award?

The Liebster Award is a way to recognize new and existing bloggers in the blogosphere. Nominations are done by other bloggers who have read and enjoyed these new blogs.

The Rules:

Once you are nominated, make a post thanking and linking the person who nominated you. Include the Liebster Award sticker in the post too. Nominate 5 -10 other bloggers who you feel are worthy of this award. Let them know they have been nominated by commenting on one of their posts. You can also nominate the person who nominated you. Ensure all of these bloggers have less than 200 followers. Answer the questions 11 questions asked to you by the person who nominated you, and make 11 new questions of your own for your nominees or you may use the same questions. Lastly, COPY these rules in the post.

1.) If you got a free flight tomorrow, without thinking where would you go?
Cape Town. I’ve been to SA twice, but never got to explore the city much. I want to go back badly.

2.) Of all countries visited which is home to your favorite cuisine?

3.) What is your favorite dish of the above cuisine?
A chocolate croissant on my way to class in the mornings. Does that count?

4.) Have you ever done any cooking classes abroad? If so, where? No. And I am a terrible cook. This is something I hope to work on at some point in my life.

5.) What is the first thing you do when in a new country?
Take a look around. Take a couple deep breaths. Buy a lot of chocolate-y snacks.

6.) Do you prefer group or solo travel? Why?
Can’t say. I haven’t traveled solo much. I enjoy group travel because you can share the experience with others, which can be valuable. But, I enjoy my solitude as well. And when you’re alone, it forces you to step out of your comfort zone, meet people, things like that.

7.) Have you ever worked abroad? If so, where?
No. My travels have consisted of volunteer work, academic travel, and now a global skills program.

8.) What is your favorite activity to do while traveling? (eg. trekking, beach bumming)
Beach bumming for as long as my skin can handle. Trying new things. Hiking. Reading. Meeting new people. Not to sound extremely cliche or anything.

9.) Do you plan your travels or just buy a flight and go?
I’ve had a few spontaneous trips (shout out Javy in Arkansas), but I would say I’m a planner.

10.) What do you miss the most when away from home?
My parents and my dog.

11.) What inspiration made you want to travel?
I get anxious being in one place for too long. And there’s way too much out there I haven’t seen to stick around home…I want to see it all.

Can I be real with you for a second? I have no idea how many followers these bloggers have. Let’s say they have <200 for the sake of following rules. My nominees are:

3. What a few things you would like to do before the year ends?

4. Did you think the dress was blue or gold?

5. What’s the worst job you’ve ever had?

6. Would you rather pry off your thumbnail with a fork or put a toothpick under your big toenail and kick a wall? (Sorry it was the first one that came up on Google).

7. Shuffle play your iTunes/Spotify/Other…what song is it?

8. If you could wake up anywhere in the world tomorrow where would it be and what would you do first?

  1. Aww thanks for the nomination! I actually just did this like 2 weeks ago from a different nomination, so I’m not going to repost another, but I love your seriously bizarre questions. And just for the fun of bizarre questions, I think I would rather pry my fingernail off with a fork, although I’d rather avoid both options if I could 🙂 haha
